I have a home-grown solution that uses reverse DNS lookups to try and map IP addresses to countries. This is somewhat effective, but far from ideal. What advantages does CountryHawk offer over what I'm doing now?

The classic "reverse DNS" solution suffers severely from the fact that half of addresses are .com, .net, and .org. So large chunks of visitors are unclassified and cannot have their country accurately detected with this method.
In addition, this method suffers from the fact that reverse DNS lookups are quite slow, and if the IP can't be resolved, it can take up to 30 seconds or more to timeout while the user sits there.
The method used by CountryHawk, on the other hand, enables you know the country of .com, .net, and .org addresses and
to know the answer instantaneously.
There is the possibility IPs could be misclassified due to IPs being registered in different countries than they're used, but that's been shown to happen rarely thus far.
