ActiveXEnabled returns False after applying MS security update 813489
Created: 4/28/2003    Updated: 7/11/2003
Q   I've used BrowserHawk to detect disabled ActiveX for a long time with no problems. I recently discovered however that after a user installs the April 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1, the ActiveXEnabled property always returns False, even if their ActiveX is enabled.

A   The April 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 makes some changes to the system that indirectly results in the ActiveX testing in BrowserHawk 6 and earlier return False, regardless of the actual setting.

Starting with BrowserHawk 7.0 cyScape has enhanced the ActiveX testing to resolve this issue. To resolve your issue, please upgrade to the latest version of BrowserHawk.
