Installation options

This section describes the installation options available to you:

Default destination folder:

Select the destination folder that you wish to install the CountryHawk files to. These files include the CountryHawk data files, configuration files, as well as subfolders for any samples and help files you elect to install. Note that the CountryHawk component itself (.DLL) is installed to your system directory.

Select Features:

In Windows Installer terms, Features are subcomponents of the installation. You may customize your installation by choosing to install only those features that you are interested in. These features are:

ActiveX component – This feature installs the ActiveX/COM version of the CountryHawk component (.DLL). This version of the component is ideal for use from ASP, ColdFusion, Visual Basic, C++, and other programming languages that support the creation of ActiveX components.

.NET component – This feature installs the native .NET version of the CountryHawk component (.DLL). This version of the component is ideal for use from .NET languages, such as ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, and other programming languages that support the creation of .NET components.

Common files – This feature installs the common files used by the CountryHawk components, such as the License Key Manager, and country data files. This feature is mandatory and therefore cannot be deselected.

Samples – This feature contains several sample scripts that demonstrate common uses of the CountryHawk and how to call its properties and methods. It is recommended that you install this feature, as the samples are very small and may come in handy both for learning to use the component and for troubleshooting any issues in the future.

When selecting this feature, the installation program creates a virtual web, called CountryHawkSamples, off your web server's default web. It then installs the various samples files into this directory which you can view by entering http://localhost/CountryHawkSamples/index.htm in your browser. Note that you must have the IIS web service installed and running to run the samples.

Documentation (WinHelp and Word formats) – These features contain the product help files and documentation. It is recommended that you install at least one of these help files for your reference. Documentation is installed to the

\Program Files\cyScape\CountryHawk\docs directory by default.

Ready to install:

After selecting your desired features, the installation program will proceed to install CountryHawk to your system. After this step completes you are ready to import your license key.
